The art here was created by a collaboration between Saddleback artists and the larger church. After Pastor Rick’s message on Identity, people soaked their fingers and hands in their choice of paint and left their expression of color to bring the larger image to life. Here, each fingerprint comes together in their diversity of shapes, sizes, and colors to show the power of individual identities functioning together as one.“The human body has many parts,” writes the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 12, “but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ… But we have all been baptized into one body by one Spirit, and we all share the same Spirit.”
Sin will divide us at times, but the truest unity comes through a community that shares the gift of being rescued out of that sin and now living together with the same purpose.
