Easter ALIVE This Weekend
This weekend we are putting out a new interactive art piece for Easter. Come to any of the 11 Easter services at Saddleback Lake Forest to see it in action and participate!
How It Begins //
The word “ALIVE” will be standing 8 ft. high and 20 ft. wide on the patio, cut out of plywood in a thick script and completely whitewashed. Piled up behind the giant script letters will be a mountain of discarded junk, metal, wood, debris, etc—also completely white washed.
Community Interaction//
Everyone coming out of the building at Saddleback Church will get to come up to the white letters and freely express themselves with any of the three bright + vibrant colors using a number of tools in combination with their color choice. Throughout the 11 Easter services here at Lake Forest, the letters will transition to a vibrant expression of color and life with the reclaimed junk behind the letters finding new life and beauty alongside.
1) Grab a painting tool
2) Pick your color
3) Paint! Celebrate in color!
Ex Creatis Artists have been ideating, building, painting, sanding, and prepping for the last month to make this interactive art piece possible. This will be the biggest weekend yet for the arts in Saddleback’s history. We also have a new gallery show to go along with the interactive art piece that debuted last weekend. More images and words to come on this gallery exhibit soon. See Images HERE.
Letters in Progress, waiting to be installed later this week.
Our Inspiration//
Immense in mercy and with an incredible love, he embraced us. He took our sin-dead lives and made us alive in Christ. — Ephesians 2:4-5a (MSG)
We all have junk in our lives, but Jesus offers to put all that behind us and make us alive together with him. If we let Jesus take our junk and put him at the center, we get to experience the vibrant colors of new life that he offers us through his victory over death.
